Weather information for the 18th and 19th February 1980 in the
Dulwich area of South London.

The weather on both days was dominated by a large area of high pressure situated over eastern Europe. This dragged in southerly winds from the near continent.
The 18th dawned clear across London with mist and a temperature of 5.6 deg. C in a light southerly breeze. Cloud increased during the morning, clearing the mist but leaving rather hazy conditions, and by mid-day the sky was covered by 6 eighths of cloud. Winds were southeasterly around 10 knots and the air temperature was 9 deg. C. Skies then remained cloudy throughout the night and in light winds the temperature dropped to 5.6 deg. C. During the morning of the 19th, it remained cloudy with winds from a south-easterly direction and mainly light. Temperatures were slightly above normal peaking at 12.3 deg. C on the 19th.
In short, the night of the 18th/19th February 1980 in London was cloudy and dry with a light south-easterly breeze. It was frost free with temperature falling to no lower than 5.6 deg. C.
